Logos Academy Inc is an School and Hostel specializing in Social Tourism.
Learn Urban Food & Water Security. Our Urban hostel is a base of operations for our experiments in sustainable living, extreme nature and survival skills as we promote the project Peacetrail International. Located in a picturesque, small, university American town we perform community service and education in Food and Water security including; Rain Water catchment systems, Aquaponics Fish and Vegetable systems, Waste recycling thru Vermiculture, among other projects.
Our Eco-toursinclude bicycle trips to local springs and boating on the river St John where we experience the Florida tropical outback, learn survival skills and Guerrilla farming. Bike or kayak to springs where you can see Manatees, Alligators, Bald Eagles, Black bears, and all manner or Birds. Sleep on a boat and work our projects in the bush or go shore and explore old tribal and early settler forest trails. About our Hostel Clean and homey, Big front porch with hammocks and chairs for relaxing with Free Wi-Fi everywhere. Nice fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals. Big, open living area with Cable TV and Stereo, exposed beams and windows with a chalet-like atmosphere. Sleeping accommodations are dorm rooms, Male or Female, hammocks, camping and berths on our boat when available. Free breakfast every morning with coffee and tea included. Group meals and special weekly feast nites available with cheap commune-like prices. Check our Job board daily for Work exchange opportunities where paying guests get first choice to exchange volunteer work for free room and board. Lots to do in town too. Deland is an all American town; lots of shops, antiques, murals, pubs and restaurants, music and theater too, all a short walk to our hostel
Logos Academy Inc is a Non-profit school. All classes and adventures are for members. Membership fee is $15 per year which entitles you to take our Hostel and discount prices, Classes, Peace Trail adventures, Volunteer opportunities and Work exchange for free room and board. Pay for membership upon arrival.

Once you arrive and become a member you can take part in any of our school activities, bike ride to town, go shopping, pubs, or walking tours or purchase one of our Peace Trail Package Adventures below (subject to a minimum of 6 people per tour). As a member you can also take part in Work Exchange and stay for free! (see job board)

No. 3 The Ambassador 3 day, 2 night Peacetrail Adventure
Certification Trip: This trip qualifies you, upon completion, for Certification an Ambassador with Logos Academy, Inc. (see role of an Ambassador)Departs weekly with the Lake Woodruff (Tuesdays) run aboard our shuttle craft "Stone Soup". Sail down the St. John river and be dropped off at our floating outpost Aldea called the Ambassador. Ambassador is our research vessel where crew and volunteers experiment in Guerrilla farming, Alternative transportation and Survival skills. Our goal is creating an Eco-outpost where an old civilization once existed on this part of the river to extend the network of Peacetrail. Help us with our projects; Chicken Island and Goat Island, cut trail, plant trees, learn how to create a Chinampas, throw a cast net, make a fish bait trap, kayak up streams and explore an area where ancient native American and early American settlers once lived and have now vanished. No frills; candles and cold showers. Bring your camera because will see Manatees, Ospreys, Eagles, Black bears, Alligators, and all kinds of wild birds and wildlife typical of the subtropics.
